Tuesday
Ordered Tank from local stockist - Emsworth Aquaria Although it was possible to save £30+ by buying over the internet the local shop has benefits of being able to discuss requirements, ask questions and ease of returning anything defective.

The equipment was delivered on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I was off work ill and was unable to move anything. The tank and stand lay on the lounge floor, the gravel and other equipment lay on the kitchen floor.

Wednesday
Since I was still not particularly well, I just read the instructions!

Thursday
I assembled the base, on Thursday evening after work.

Comments on the Jewel Rio 300 stand: None of the parts were labelled, I had to refer to plan which showed parts by sizes (in mm) and then referred to them by letters. A few "postit" notes helped a lot! Base fitted neatly together without any problems.

Read the instruction on the filters and found a different set of filters from the documentation. A quick search of the Jewel web site showed that the new light green filter is a Nitrate filter to replace one of the coarse filters.

Friday
After work placed tank on base with help from a friend. Added right angled plastic right angled moulding with sealant to the inside of the tank as I wanted to install condensation filters. Not fitted as standard.

Disappointed at the build quality Enough space to fit coins between the moulding in the front and the glass Sealant bulged from the front right corner of the tank.

Saturday
The weekend, painted the wall and fixed a cover over the old gas fire place. Painted that as well! Painted the outside back of tank with medium blue emulsion, two coats were sufficient. In the evening placed washed rocks, bogwood and shingle in the tank.

I had not ordered enough tubing to fit the air bubblers. Since I wanted to stick the tubes in the corners with sealant I decided not to fill the tank. Ordered "pre set code 770" plant collection from www.aquaticplants.eu.com which consisted of 176 plants large tank £21.95+pp. Local shops sell plants from £1 each.
